Scramble types

There are three different scramble types available. Some behaviour will be different when you select the option “keep spaces, capitals and numbers”.

Random

Scramble the attributes with random values, attribute types are handled differently.

String

A string value is scrambled based on the amount of characters in the original string

Decimal

A decimal value is scrambled based on the amount of characters in the original value

Date time

A date time value is scrambled with keeping the date format correct but the values are scrambled

List

When scrambling data that should still be correct but not retrace able like a social security number you have the option to create a value list. The selected attribute will be scrambled with one of the defined values in the list.

Fixed value

You can define a string value yourself if you want it to be scrambled. Use cases for anonymise data with the same exact value every time.
